John Morgan - Head of Division With 30 years' experience as a qualified solicitor, during which he has been the managing partner in a leading Middle East law firm and subsequently in various major regional law practices, John Morgan contributes a wealth of knowledge to mfg Solicitors’ expanding company commercial business division. Joining the firm as a partner, John brings with him a vast expertise in corporate and banking law matters. With a detailed knowledge and understanding of both company and commercial law and banking issues, John is able to provide business advice to the full range of mfg clients covering topics such as corporate finance, private equity, commercial contracts, company restructuring and sales and acquisitions to name but a few. Specialising in the private sector, he is proficient in working with a diverse range of clients. John previously practised in Bahrain for 11 years, returning to
the UK in 1988. He has been involved as lead partner in many major
transactions. |

Peter Copsey Peter Copsey is a partner at the firm of mfg Solicitors. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the firm as he has been working as a qualified solicitor for more than 25 years. Peter attended the University College London. He qualified as a solicitor in 1979 with a West Bromwich-based firm named Lyon Clark. He joined Morton Fisher, who later became mfg Solicitors, in 1984. His areas of expertise include all manner of corporate and commercial work. He advises his clients on a range of company and commercial law issues such as mergers and acquisitions, general commercial advice and contractual matters. The Company and Commercial division also have a burgeoning Intellectual Property Practice. Peter was based at the Kidderminster branch of mfg Solicitors for 17 years, and now works at the Halesowen branch. He prides himself on his client focus, enjoying an amicable and positive relationship with all of his clients. Peter spends his leisure time with his wife and their four daughters. |

Maynard Burton With more than 25 years' experience as a practising solicitor, Maynard Burton contributes a wealth of knowledge to his position as chairman of mfg Solicitors. Michael Noble Michael Noble is a partner at mfg Solicitors, working within the commercial property division. Michael Payne Michael Payne is a partner and part of the commercial property division for mfg. He is also office partner at the firm’s Telford branch. With nearly 33 years' experience as a qualified solicitor, Michael is a valuable asset to the firm. He advises the full range of mfg for business clients on matters of corporate law. Michael has a detailed knowledge and understanding of all areas of commercial and company law including commercial property, share sales and purchases, company reorganisations, shareholder agreements and all types of share transactions, partnership agreements and company formations. Michael holds membership to the Law Society. He previously managed
the firm’s Newport office before moving to the firms Telford
Commercial Centre to set up their commercial and commercial property

Tom Esler - Head of Division Tom Esler heads up the Litigation Division and is a commercial litigation partner, based at Halesowen Commercial Centre He is a specialist litigator with 15 years of experience in commercial dispute resolution and risk management. He has extensive mediation experience. He has represented parties in a wide range of disputes from straightforward contractual matters through to complex manufacturing disputes, warranty disputes and shareholder litigation. Primarily he acts for shareholders and directors of owner-managed businesses advising on all areas of company law, ecommerce, insolvency and intellectual property. Suzanne Lee Suzanne Lee joined mfg Solicitors in 1997. She qualified in 1999, and became parnter within the litigation division. For the past seven years Suzanne has worked in litigation with a brief interlude working in tax and trusts. Her specialist knowledge of the litigation field is a valuable asset to the firm and she has vast experience advising both commercial and private clients. Suzanne’s areas of expertise include professional negligence, contentious probate and commercial contract disputes. She is an esteemed board member at mfg and has membership to the

Norman Robertson-Smith Having qualified as a solicitor in 1977, Norman has been with mfg Solicitors since 1980 and is a partner in the civil litigation division based in Kidderminster. With extensive experience in the civil litigation arena, Norman is able to provide expert professional advice on the full spectrum of legal disputes. His particular areas of expertise include lawsuits relating to land and buildings, partnerships, professional negligence and contested probate. An expert in his field, Norman has encountered many County Court and High Court actions and completed a number of mediations throughout his legal career. He was also involved in taking a successful case to the European Court of Human Rights against the UK government in 1988. Norman previously managed the civil litigation at the firm’s
Bromsgrove office for over ten years before subsequently moving
to the Kidderminster branch. |
