Sarah Baugh - Head of Division Sarah Baugh heads up the agricultural and rural affairs division. Sarah has been a qualified solicitor for over nine years having previously worked at a leading Midlands firm for eight years; two of which were spent in training before qualifying and progressing to the private client section of their landed estates division. An expert in agriculture and rural affairs matters, Sarah is a valuable asset to the firm. She contributes a detailed knowledge and understanding of all areas of property related rural and agricultural law transactions, assisting clients on topics such as the acquisitions and disposals of freehold and leasehold properties, subsidy issues and tenancy queries covering residential and agricultural properties. Sarah is a member of the Law Society and the Agricultural Law

Celia Tildesley Celia Tildesley is a partner at mfg solicitors, based at the company’s Telford office, working in the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Division. She became a partner in May 2007 after two years with the company. She has more than seven years’ experience as a law practitioner and is a property specialist, having previously worked in the commercial property field. Celia’s work mainly involves the handling of large estates and is particularly interested in the diversification of land, including the granting of option agreements to developers and the granting of telecoms licences. She is a member of the Law Society. |

Tom Devey Tom Devey joined Gwynnes in 2002 as a trainee solicitor, before the firm merged with Morton Fisher to become mfg Solicitors in 2005. He qualified in 2004, and is now an assistant solicitor, working closely with Sarah Baugh at the firm’s Wellington office, on the Agricultural and Rural Affairs team. Tom predominantly undertakes farm and landed estate work, including land sales and acquisitions, tenancies for farm workers or employees, Farm Business Tenancies, Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies and advice relating to Single Farm Payment Entitlements and Agri-Environmental Schemes. He specialises in work involving both unregistered and registered titles and, as a result, frequently undertakes large scale applications for first registration with H M Land Registry. Tom graduated with a BA (Hons) in English from the University of West England, Bristol before going on to study at the College of Law in Chester. He was a keen rugby player before his playing career was brought to a premature end by a knee injury, but remains an ardent spectator. Tom also enjoys many other outdoor pursuits including shooting and fishing. He is currently the secretary of the Wrekin Round Table, and also a member of Telford Young Professionals and the Shropshire Law Society. Tom lives in Shropshire with his wife and their one year old daughter. |

Helen Timson 'Helen qualified as a Solicitor in 1980 and first joined mfg Solicitors (then R Gwynne & Sons) to work in Civil Litigation. She had a long break to raise two children and returned in 1999 after having completed a College of Law Legal Practice Course in Wills Probate and Administration and now specialises in Will drafting and the administration of estates. Helen can also assist private clients with legal issues concerning the elderly, powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters. Helen is currently a trustee with Age Concern Wrekin and Newport |
Jon Clifford Jon Clifford is an associate at mfg Solicitors. He has been with the firm since May 2005 when he moved from the Birmingham office of national firm, Cobbetts. Jon specialises in property litigation within the contentious team of the Agricultural and Rural Affairs Division. Jon’s has experience in handling a variety of cases, including contested land registry applications, restrictive covenants, boundary disputes and possession claims; together with landlord and tenant disputes such as contested lease renewals, forfeiture and dilapidations claims. Whilst many of Jon’s cases are at a County Court or High Court level, he will always try to explore alternative methods of resolution such as arbitration and mediation. Some of the broader disputes Jon deals with include breach of contract, professional negligence, trespass and environmental issues. Jon is a member of both the Agricultural Law Association and the Property Litigation Association and regularly gives talks on contested agricultural issues. |
Kirsten Bridgewater Assistant solicitor Kirsten Bridgwater has been with mfg Solicitors since 30th July 2007. After spending 8 years teaching art and art history at Dene Magna School, Kirsten decided to re-train as a solicitor, beginning the process via a 2 year distance learning programme. She gave up teaching in 2004 to pursue a full-time Legal Practice course. She moved to mfg from Blakemore’s Solicitors in Birmingham, and qualified on 15th September 2007. Kirsten is mainly responsible for contentious cases within the Agricultural and Rural Affairs division. Her areas of expertise include litigation, with specialist knowledge in agricultural property litigation. She works closely alongside Jonathan Clifford, dealing with matters such as contested land registry applications, restrictive covenants, boundary disputes and possession claims; together with landlord and tenant disputes such as contested lease renewals, forfeiture and dilapidations claims. Kirsten enjoys windsurfing in her spare time, on local lakes and off the British Coast at weekends and escaping to more exotic coastlines during holidays. She also participates in archery and circuit training, and plays flute at a grade 8 level. |
Sarah Denney-Richards Sarah trained and qualified with Roythornes in 2002, agricultural specialists in the Eastern Counties . She joined mfg in November 2005 after spending 2 years with Burges Salmon concentrating on non contentious agricultural and rural affairs. Sarah, an associate at mfg Solicitors, focuses on non contentious property work, particularly farm and estate sales and purchases, development land sales and agricultural tenancies and mortgages. She is also involved in commercial land transactions including business leases and overage transactions. Her remit extends further to include succession planning, partnership arrangements and subsidy reform advice. |
